Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Fortune Barisal has dismissed the allegation of match-fixing against Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik as baseless. It is being claimed through a social media post that Shoaib Malik's contract with Fortune Barisal has been terminated following allegations of alleged fixing.
Barisal team's media manager Sikander has dismissed the
Bengali media's claims and reports regarding Shoaib Malik as baseless when
contacted by Express News.
Media manager Sikandar is of the view that Shoaib Malik was
willing to come back and play on February 6 but his proposal was not accepted
after which the contract was terminated by mutual consent.

On the other hand, while talking to Media, Shoaib
Malik has dismissed the media reports and said that he was in Dubai due to
pre-arranged personal engagements, he wanted to go back and play, but the
league management did not agree, all other things are nonsense.
The position of Fortune Barisal also came out on the echo of
the alleged fixing on Shoaib Malik in the Bangladesh Premier League. Fortune Barisal
is angry over the wrong news by Bengali media.
Team owner Mizanur Rahman has released a video statement in
which he stated that Shoaib Malik has gone to Dubai due to personal engagements
and wanted to join the team from 6th February after personal engagements. There
were only two matches after 6th February. Due to this, the team management
terminated the contract with Shoaib Malik in mutual consultation, Shoaib Malik
is a good player. They tried their best against Khulna Tigers and we have no
complaints against them.
It should be noted that Shoaib Malik was not out by scoring
five runs in 6 balls in the said match. Shoaib Malik conceded 18 runs in an
over, including three no-balls.
